Hunting is still a very popular sport in Tuscany, practiced during the Renaissance, Middle Ages, Roman period and all the way back to Etruscan times. Spend a day with us and truly experience this traditional sport that is embedded in Tuscan culture, while being deeply respectful of nature and the landscape.
We begin in the morning with brunch at AziendaBoscaglia, where you can taste some local game meat. We then set off into the woods armed with our cameras to seek out some of the local fauna, which might include wild boar, roe deer, fallow deer or hares. We will walk through the stunning Carline Woodland (3500 hectares of protected woodland) in the heart of the Colline Metallifere mountain-hill group. The woodland is full of oaks, downy oaks, tall hornbeams and ancient chestnut trees with majestic foliage and gigantic trunks – all interspersed with intricate shrubs and typically Mediterranean scrub.
