EXCHANGE VOWS AT THE CASSERO IN POGGIBONSI
The Cassero is a unique and imposing pentagonal fort, which was designed as part of Francesco di Giorgio Martini’s plan for the ‘ideal city’. It is run by the local authorities in Poggibonsi, who make it available for civil wedding ceremonies, banquets and wedding celebrations.
The main entrance leads to a long corridor and the Weaponry Hall, which opens out onto a large open-air area, known as Piazza d’Armi. This exclusive location and space (12 hectares in total) means that we can organize truly unique and fully personalized wedding events. Bride and groom are free to choose the most romantic location for the ceremony and their favorite spot for an aperitivo, cocktails, wedding banquet, evening party and even a wedding concert if desired.
Wedding ceremonies can be held inside in the Sala Francovich, a large ceremonial room in the Cassero that can seat up to 80 people. Vows can also be exchanged in the open air in Piazza d’Armi.
The couple can also choose to hold the ceremony in one of the panoramic spots overlooking San Lucchese church and the town of San Gimignano. If you are passionate about historical re-enactments, we can also organize weddings with a romantically historic look and feel.
